Javea is divided up into three distinct areas:

The Old Town (El Pueblo), The Port (El Puerto), and El Arenal which is a sandy bay.  The Port is populated by cafes and restaurants and has a delightful promenade with palm trees and a beach.  The old town has an indoor covered market, historic church and many traditional features such as narrow cobbled streets and sunny piazzas.

El Arenal

is the main resort area of Javea with many shops, restaurants and of course a very popular sandy beach.  Only a short distance from El Arenal you can find the enchanting beach of Grandella as well as  secluded rocky coves and inlets.  Javea is spread over a relatively wide area, and to enjoy everything that it has to offer  we recommend the use of a car,  but it is by no means essential.

Javea's ancient windmills (Los Molinos) can be seen  located behind and above the Port.  Some of the mills date back to medieval times and are worthy of a visit as the views over Javea Bay are spectacular.
